latest BIAB external HD

Post by Steven Welborn »

Just purchased 2016 BIAB (upgrade from 2010). The external hard drives (ultra pac) back then were glitchy so I loaded into the internal drive as was recommended. For that reason I was just going to go with the megapac(no hard drive) and down load, but PG rep claimed their new hard drives were better quality now (not sure as of when) so I chose the Ultra Pac. So my question is anyone using the newer PG external drive glitch free? and are the extra styles available on the Ultra Pac usable enough from a country/jazz perspective to justify the extra bux?

Biab 2016

Post by Roger Robinson »

I purchased BIAB 2016 last December with the year end sale. I installed from the harddrive to my laptop and made a backup to an external harddrive with no problems.

I'd have to look at the BIAB harddrive to see the specs. You should have at least a 7200 rpm drive if you're going to operate from it. Worst case scenario you could always copy the BIAB drive to a new external USB harddrive 7200 rpm or greater and run from that.

Hope that helps.
