I'd start dead simple, no loops, no stereo.
Guitar - volume pedal - right channel input (going from memory, thinking they're stereo) - right channel output - amp.
IS it powering on? Did it have a battery leakage issue in the past?
Check the input level and the output level.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Prdfex hook up

Lane, went from guitar to volume pedal to right chanel in, then right chanel out to amp, checked volume in and out, both set at 5. Getting nothing. This was a Ken Fox no battery unit.. it shows which program so I know it is turned on....

Have you tried the signal input jack on the front of the unit? I use the front input and then one of the outputs in the back.....

The input is the front jack. One jack..... No left and right. Try different presets to see if it works on something. There is a problem with some units that the pedal steel setting will not work if you have arrows instead of plus signs between the effects. From the back of the Profex, go into the power amp in on an amp. There is a left and right output, but it usually doesn't matter witch you use unless the program is set to favor one or the other. Sometimes delay is set up for left or right for people using two amps. If nothing else works, do a reset which returns everything to factory settings. It should work then. I've got four of them and it's the best thing I've ever used. Good luck.

Don't forget the vol knob on the back of the unit (as I recall) "Output Vol"

Guitar to volume pedal, out of volume pedal into the front input of the Profex II. From the LEFT output on back of the Profex II into front of amp. Set input knob on front of Profex II at about 10:00 o'clock and the output knob on back of the Profex II to about 2:00 o'clock. It should work. The left output is for mono.

Pro fex 2 I

Post by Fred Welch »

Oh good Lord I forgot to add the 2, its a profex 2 with a Ken Fox upgrade with no battery. I am so sorry, I was so used to saying profex. :( thank you Tony for asking if I was sure it was a profex! Thanks for all you who have posted and tried to help, any chance one of the buttons next to the play could have been pushed, and has it in the middle of a chore.
