Skh emmons for sale 346L. I think it is around 1982 model? Guitar has 8 pedals and 5 knees emmons setup. Franklin pedal setup on 4th pedal. Guitar has 2nd string raise on RNL and raises 8th string with pedal 3. Polished Knees. Excellent condition. Comes with case and leg bag and new cover by steel covers. Case in good condition. $4200.00 plus shipping and insurance.

Very interesting piece of Emmons history here. A shortie with a Lashley changer instead of the webbed bridge. Also note the silver pedals instead of the earlier black anodized of the original LeGrande era. Maybe Jack Strayhorn will chime in on this one. I own a similar model #557 with Schallers. Jack thought mine could have been a custom order somewhere between '88 and '92.

Nice compact steel with a tight tone. Someone is going to love this one!

Now that I look closer, does look like the key heads are shorter in one picture.

Not that I claim to have any what so ever pro knowledge here but I have never seen and Emmons with split key head. Maybe this has something to do with being a SKH. I have only seen a couple of them in my time. J.R.

Maybe a 92'. That changer did not come out until 86' and guitar using that changer along with short head and body were not built until 87-88 and no more after the early 90's. That serial number is certainly late 80's.

My SKH's serial number is 157L and is an '85 according to the late Brian Adams but it has the old style changer.

I thought maybe Jack had made a type 0. My dad has a black 250-something that Ron Sr.said was a 1984.

It could be a later guitar due to a short body built at earlier date. Keep in mind that serial numbers were issued when the body was built. The first of these hybrid guitars were blue due to custom order. As the bodies were built Tim Carey could have built a basic black for stock. Tim usually built 4-6 bodies at a time. Example: 2 blue guitars ordered, maybe 2 black and one rrosewood built at same time that sit on a self, possibly for years. Another example: 6 black bodies built, 4 guitars built and shipped, Lashley model introduced leaving 2 bodies shelved until years later when a hybrid guitar was ordered.

You cannot date Emmons guitars by the serial number, only estimate. The only accurate method is to research the warranty registration.
