That's a nice herd, Jack. Have you any subjective opinions on the differences in sound and feel between them?
The steel guitar is a hard mistress. She will obsess you, bemuse and bewitch you. She will dash your hopes on what seems to be whim, only to tease you into renewing the relationship once more so she can do it to you all over again...and yet, if you somehow manage to touch her in that certain magic way, she will yield up a sound which has so much soul, raw emotion and heartfelt depth to it that she will pierce you to the very core of your being.

I am curious which one gets the most at home play time and which one is called out to gigs.

difference in guitars

Post by Jack Goodson »

actually the red msa gets more play time, just got the s/10 carter. they both sound great, it is kind of hard to tell a lot of difference in the playability and sound of the 2.the black d/10 carter and the emmons lashley legrand both play and sound great. it would really be a hard decision to pick one guitar out of the 4....thanks jack

Nicholas Ackron, I bought a Carter S10 (exactly like Jack's) a few years back to use a a fly in guitar. In the case it came it at 49.5 lbs. That was verified at several airline check in counters around the country.

Jack, what happened to this Carter? I really liked it when I saw it last year at your place.

Nicholas, why don't you keep the S12 and buy light-weight legs? I did so, and it made a big difference.
