1956 Gibson Console Grand D8 in original case

Post by Danny Hammers »

1956 Gibson Console Grand D8 SOLD

Image
I will be bringing my 1956 Gibson Console Grand D8 in it’s original case to the 2015 ISGC, to get the case signed by
Jim Vest and Chubby Howard.
Image

Image
It’s a 1956 Gibson Console Grand D8 Serial No. 63259.
Has 4 legs, because the legs are still good and tight, Martin Weenick made the nice bar to keep it that way
I have E13 on top C6th on bottom last I remember. You do your thing
It spent over 57 years in the case
Image
Don Helms played my Gibson in his living room on Wednesday April 4, 2007 and signed the bottom of the guitar and the case
Cold, Cold, Heart, was one of the tunes he played.

In 2007 we didn't have enough room for Don's guitar and case and my case in my car so we left my guitar at Don's and put "Old Red" in my case to go to St. Louis.
I miss you Hoss

Take a long close look at who sign it, you will be surprised. See list below.

It is hard for me to let this Guitar go but, firm $2900 cash and you carry it home, I will not ship this guitar

Original Bill of Sale 12/12/1956 is included

Mr. Young got this new when he was
8 years old, by picking up corn behind
the picker in Hindsboro, IL. a little town between
Springfield, IL and Indianapolis, IN
He now lives in Florida
I am the second owner of the Gibson.

Pickers that sign my Gibson Case

I bet it sells right away

Danny: Every Collector wants that one, for sure. I know, I'd love to have it myself. I can't afford to tie up more money just to sit on another rare piece as an investment. It's certainly worth your asking price. Thanks, Tommy......
P.S. You should try to get Kayton Roberts to sign it also.

Gibson

I am familiar with this guitar and it is a beauty. Don't see many this age in this pristine shape. I built a stabilizer bar for the front legs just to stabilize the legs. They are not loose, the bar is just for precaution. I would buy it myself if I thought I could play it. It is a real piece of history. Martin.
Several custom steels. NV-112 Boss DD-7

Hi Danny, that Gibson sure is pretty. I've always liked it, if I didn't have my little Garvin, I would buy it.

You all be careful going to St. Louis and back. Call me went you get home and tell me about it.
