Zumsteel Encore or GFI?

Post by Jeremy Long »

Doing a lot of fly dates lately and need to "make weight". I have a GFI D10 Ultra, but I think I'm going to have to go single neck for traveling purposes. These are the two light weight guitars that I know about. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm thinking GFI just because I'm already used to playing one. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Lots of folks are making fly guitars.
Fred has the Pro-lite, Mullen has the Discovery, and Lone Star has a carry-on legal push-pull

2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Jeremy, I don't think you could go wrong with any of the guitars already mentioned.

You're welcome to stop by and play my Ultra SD10 anytime you'd like.

Jeremy, have you seen the new GFI Aero? It was debuted at the Dallas show in March. You might want to check it out.

The one in the picture with five pedals is Mike Sigler's guitar.

I picked up a second-hand ETS for the same reasons - two weeks in the states, two weeks in Europe so far and no issues. It came down to price for me- I'd say get the best deal on any of the guitars you mentioned. I really like the legs on top case design as well.

Encore is a pro guitar, and GFI SM is semi-pro, both very nice guitars... of course regular S10 GFI is a pro guitar as well... but I don't know of any guitars that will beat Encore price at $1500 for a new S10 3+5 professional instrument...
