Jean Guy Grenier
I think a great player that doesn't get recognized enough is Jean Guy Grenier from Montreal.
I'm sure a lot of you guys and gals have heard him play, but for those who have not- I have a few links for Youtube. This guy is great !!!!
He also plays a mean 6 string and a banjo, and who knows what else.
Here's them Youtube clips. Listen to this great steel player !!
The 2nd clip is him playing a mean 6 string !!!
My favorite is the last clip where he plays a nice little Spanish lick on his Shobud LDG. I could listen to this for hours.

Jean Guy Grenier's Steel
Hi All,
I thought since you are all big fans of Jean Guy Grenier you might be interested to see this. I picked this up a few months ago and as far as I can tell it was previously owned by the master himself. Or at least the case was It's pretty worn from years on the road but it is a sweet playing and sounding steel. The plan was to leave this one at home to slowly pick up the C6 neck as time permits but I love it so much I haul this beast out to all my gigs - it's my #1!
I reached out to Jean Guy on the forum and it seems like he isn't on here much these days, but if anyone has any knowledge regarding this steel's journey that would be much appreciated! It has a sticker from Steel Guitars of Canada so it certainly passed through the hands of the great Al Brisco at some point prior to me buying it.
Thanks!
Tom
