Goodrich is in very good hands now. Not many know more about steel guitar than Jim P.

Hello Jim & Kevin;
I just ventured over to this part of the steel forum & saw your post.
CONGRATULATIONS to both of you!
Yes, the Goodrich name is an American Icon in the pedal steel guitar world..
I am sure it is in the best of hands to carry the fine name onward.
We will all look forward to all the new products ( & I am sure there will be )
as well as the time tested ones in the Goodrich line now.
Again, my congratulations to you both & the best to you in the coming future.
Ron

"Tone is in the hands. Unless your wife will let you buy a new amp. Then it's definitely in that amp."
We need to turn the TWANG up a little
It's not what you play through, it's what you play through it.
They say that tone is all in the fingers...I say it is all in your head
Some of the best pieces of life are the little pieces all added up..Ron
the value of friendship. Old friends shine like diamonds, you can always call them and - most important - you can't buy them.

Thanks for all the positive wishes. Thanks to Bob Hoffnar for the great time in Austin, just missed brother Herb Steiner... Got to hang with Mickey Adams for a bit. Thanks Mickey. Had a real real cool hang with Mark and Carla Giles. I got a tour of what makes Mark a master carpender ... It's Carla!! Special thanks to John and JoAnne Kruse for their wonderfull hospitality and words off wisdom. Headin to El Paso ... onward and home.

Thrilled at this news, Pali, the Goodrich name couldn't be in better hands. I vote for better pots, of course, and pedal with tuner-out. Will you no longer carry Telonics volume pedals? Some conflicts to resolve there, it appears.
I vote you buy out the Emmons name and brand, and keep it going. Partner with Frank Carter on that project!

I doubt that we'll attempt to bring back the wonderful LDR pedal as Dave and the great folks at Telonics have that end of the spectrum covered nicely. Dave and I have had a lot of communication about the dearth of good pots and there are no conflicts to resolve in that arena- it's like comparing apples to oranges- two totally different things. Goodrich Sound and Steel Guitars of North County are two totally different entities and do not share the same location. We (Goodrich) are currently having a new pot designed to our specifications that will hopefully remedy the current problems that exist. It was a long great road trip and now we have the task of unloading the truck today and finding a place for everything, cataloging the parts and inventory, and begin the task of implementing the changes that we envision. I absolutely love this part of the curve .

Well done, Jim - this story has really cheered me up!
My brief flirtation with a different VP came to nothing and I remain a staunch Goodrich devotee. Jim Palenscar's name will ensure that this product will remain at the top of the heap.

Congratulations Jim. I wish you every success in your new venture. I wish you would reconsider your plans on the LDR pedal They were a great pedal, except for the power connection point which could be easily modified.
