Looking for listening suggestions
I've been having bad luck lately finding new music (new to me) to listen to. Does anyone have any suggestions? To give you some guidance, I'm thinking stuff similar to these songs: slow, quiet, reserved:

Hi Curt, (and others)!
I went through my bookmarks and found these songs (hopefully) in a similar vein that you are looking for.
"Til I Can Make It On My Own" - Anna Catherine DeHart

Conway Twitty With Loretta - Hello Darlin "Live"

Celtic Woman - Amazing Grace

"I Told You So" Carrie with Randy Travis

Crystal Gayle - Eddie Rabbitt - duet - Just You and I
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0sxMMsDgtM
Trisha Yearwood & Michael McDonald - "I Still Believe In You"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRwMdYXXAQA
John Berry - You and Only You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLrEAH2 ... 2FBAE793E6
Wynonna Judd - My Strongest Weakness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z00b1DOiCU4
Amy Grant - You Gave Me Love
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uKrBK3Wzx4
Don Helms & Vince Gill - If You Ever Have Forever In Your Mind
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl3Nm0HmTe4
This one is a classic - Don Helms & Vince Gill. My only complaint is that Vince sings the whole song and doesn't let the steeler do his thing!
There are a lot of familiar faces in this crowd - see if you can identify them all. Check out who's sitting behind Don. BTW, the blond female at 7:32 - anyone know who she is? I recognize her but can't recall her name...
Hope you enjoy these, they are some of my favorites.

If you've yet to hear La Familia de Ukulele out of Argentina, they're worth checking out. Here's a link to their album on You Tube:

More along the vein you've described is Iowegian Greg Brown. I especially like "Blue Car." With some imagination the tremoloed electric guitar part would translate nicely to steel:

And "Eugene" may be about the coolest talking blues ever:

For about 30 years, I've liked Lee Clayton for that sort of music - kinda alt-countrty, kinda Dylan, and kinda Willie, all rolled up in one. He does some real hard-edged stuff, too, but that's probably outside of the type of music you're looking for.
