New Hudson 3/8 string spacing 10 string Pedal Steel Guitar

The New Hudson 10 string pedal steel with 3/8 inch Wide string spacing is available now built to order.
This is the string spacing used on many Lap steels, Dobros, 6 & 8 String console and pedal steel guitars.
The Guitar comes standard with 3 floor pedals and 4 Knee levers and the standard E9th setup, Maple Body Real hardWood with natural clear coat finish.
George L Eon pickup & Pull Release Changer.
The Guitar has all cross shafts mounted in Ball Bearings on the undercarriage. Each pedal and knee lever has adjustable travel stops. The pedals and knees are smooth and very quite. The setup on the pedals works well even if you play bare foot, easy operating soft touch pedals. They can be set to be stiff if you like the pedals to be hard to push.
This is a very quite operating guitar, Would work well in studio recording environment.
This is a starter to intermediate level steel guitar.

The standard weight is 18 Lbs. And can be as low as 15 if special ordered to be extra lite.

I can see this being a great way for lap steel players to upgrade to pedal steel, and with the string spacing, they could adapt their grips faster.

Nice guitar to look at, and seems to looks well built. I would like to see more detailed pictures, and hear sound files...

I have not figured out how to get the sound files uploaded yet. I will post sound track when I get it figured out.

Mr. Hudson, is the changer double raise, double lower, capable of raise and lower on each string,
and fully changeable?

The changer is a pull release single finger changer.
The undercarriage is set at the factory per order.
I can set up 2 raise and 1 lower on any string with this changer.
Also Can do 1 raise and 2 lowers on any 1 string as well.
The changer can be setup to do many complex changes, but it is best with this style changer, to just keep it simple. The E9th and C6th standard setups work well with this changer. If you need a lot of changeability, I would say go with an all pull changer. I offer the all pull style changer, as well as an undercarriage that can be changed in most anyway you like in the pro model guitar. The pro models start at $1895.00 custom built to order.

I have heard good things about the sound of pull/release guitars; my only experience was with a Red Baron,
so I need say no more.
I wonder if pull/release can accommodate splits, for example, A pedal + Bb lever to split at C (or F# lever + pedal B to get G)?

I can set it up to do most anything you want it to.

The only change I have found I can't make it do is change a Mother In Law's mind. LOL
I don't think an all pull changer will do that either.

It is best to keep it simple with the single finger style changer.

Thanks Johnie, I have found that the Maple wood makes the best sounding guitar. The Pull Release changer too me has always been the king of great tone.
A good pickup helps too.

The cross shafts are 3/8 aluminum rod.
The rollers are brass Ball ends.
