I love my Sho-Bud, other than the part that just broke... (see buy\sell)
But I want something with a modern action too.
I'll still keep the Bud.
There are valid reasons for more than one brand and it's mechanism or sound,
somtimes you have one but not the other. |

CLR S12,5+5,I love it , have owned MSA since 1971 till last year when I got my CLR. Before that, I owned a few lap steels a Gibson Console Grande 7+8, a Fender 400. If I were to purchase a new PSG, it would be another CLR.I played a Zumm D10 the other day and it was great, action and tone, probably won't ever need another but if I won the lottery, would look at Zumm real close.

Wayne, I agree a lot of guys think that a new steel will make them play better and they substitute equipment for practice. But, hey, buying and selling can be fun, if not addictive. Look what we Americans do with our cars. We trade every three years just to have the latest thing on wheels. Me too! I hope you're not still driving a '52 Chevy. On steels, I'd love to have them lined up like they do on the Opry stage. Then I could play whatever strikes my fancy. |

I did not marry the first girl that I dated, and I am not living in the first house I ever bought, and I don't drive the same car that I ever bought ... I loved them all, but you can love more than one ! ... This is why I have a few of everything .....EXCEPT WIVES !!!... but I did trade in the first one, for a different model !!!....I have different pedal steel's for different mood's and applications...I love them all, and they all play well with others ! |

My daddy always said, "you never sell your shotgun, just get another one". Same for steels I think. [This message was edited by Ray Minich on 12 May 2004 at 12:50 PM.] |

I played my first steel for 20 years. It was an MSA and had only one knee lever. Eventually, I wanted more levers, so I traded. When I had more money to spend, I traded again to get a brand new Zum, because I had tried one and found it was an excellent guitar. I just bought another MSA because I always liked the first one I had. My new (used) MSA has 4 knee levers, and I enjoy both the MSA and the ZUM. The Zum goes to my gigs, the MSA stays set up for a practice guitar. The Zum is the best guitar I ever owned and should be good for a lifetime, but you never know... |

I know very few serious hunters who only have one shotgun.

Well now....let's see...I have five pedal steels, three lap steels and so many other guitars & amps & stuff...Thats the bad news.
Now the good news is...I am moving into a brand new four bedroom three bath , big pool , Spa , on a lake.No wife , no family, I think more guitars are in order. As soon as I win the Lotto , Ray Montee and I are going to Hawaii and pick up that A-26 sitting at Hickham.." Drifting and Dreaming".[This message was edited by Willis Vanderberg on 14 May 2004 at 06:34 PM.] |
