Greetings,
On behalf of the Southwestern Steel Guitar Association, (SWSGA), we'd like to extend a "Welcome" to any of you considering joining such an organization. Whether you're a new player to the steel guitar, or an experienced artist, there's something here for you.
We hold jam sessions a couple of times a year and a great Convention once a year in January in Phoenix, AZ. We are honored to have some of the best steel guitar artists play at these shows. Many of these artists offer their instructional materials at the show. We also publish and email a newsletter once a month. The newsletter covers updates on things happening within the association, has great resources for steel guitar venders, and steel guitar instructors.
If Arizona is a little far for you, the newsletter might make it closer. John McClung writes great articles on steel guitar, Kevin Ryan writes E9 playing tips, Rick Schmidt writes articles on C6, and Ron Pruter does articles on maintenance and mechanical issues. Each of these artists are great players, great instructors, and great folks! Many of them teach via "Skype" and have their own websites with instructional information.
The annual dues for all of this, is $25 a year! If that sounds like a good deal, please visit the SWSGA's website at, http://www.swsteelguitar.com For this month only, we've opened the March newsletter for everyone and you can view it at, http://www.swsteelguitar.com/newsletter ... 012239.pdf
There are several great Steel Guitar Associations available and we hope that you'll find one near you and continue to support the Steel Guitar World!
Southwestern Steel Guitar Association welcomes you!

Right you are Kevin...we are proud of our organization, and believe we have the best newsletter of all the steel organizations. For those of you who are not familiar with our newsletter, feel free to check it out. We are actively seeking members, and would welcome your support.
Thanks to Bill Tauson for posting this.

As others have said, the SWSGA steel show is one of the TOP shows currently in production, with production values at the highest level, along with amazing playing from some of the world's greatest players, and many amazing but little-known players as well.
The organization's newsletter, the "Steel Guitar Rag," is also a great part of your membership, full of informative articles now that new writers Rick Schmidt, Kevin Ryan, and Ron Pruter have joined me as authors.
I would like to give kudos to former editor Denny Beaver, and new editor Bill Tauson, who both do a wonderful, tireless and generally thankless and unnoticed job of pulling together the publication month after month; it's not easy, folks, there's no magic button you can push to design a newsletter! It takes know-how and lots of time. Thanks, guys, for the work you do.
