Hi Bishop Ron I notice you only use two picks to Play Steel Guitar.I think you should try to use the third one as it will fill in more.I might just try your way and see what I come up with.

Hello! Samuel E.(White)
Thanks for that observation, but I don't know if the extra pick would help. I`ve been playing this way for sixty-two years, and I`ve sortive, gotten used to playing this way. Besides, I would lose that violin/horn like quality of sound that I have developed after all these years. But thanks for the suggestion. By the way, how is the family? I, and others, are yet praying for your son, and others. God bless you my friend, and warmest of greetings to your loved ones!

Bishop Ronnie My Son is still in rehab. as they have yet to put any replacements in his spine where they took all the parts back out of his back. They got rid of the infection and he is doing tharaphy every day getting stronger for the hopefully last Operation. They just don't seem to be in much of a hurry and he is getting upset just laying around and them not doing any thing. He has been in Rehab for over two years in the nursing home.He told me they are just doing this to keep collecting money from Medicad and Medicare. I think he is right it is all about Money. You take care and I enjoy your playing and what ever works for you that is what it is.

I thought the tone had a horn sound that I liked.
I also thought, that's some soul playing! |

[i]Hi Charlie! (McDonald)
AH Ha! You have discovered my secret. The old Horn / Violin quality of sound! Naaw!, I have been blessed to come out that way when I try to play! But, Thanks for the encouragement, it does comes from the soul, and I hope for many, many, many, more times as the good Lord allows me play, that some will feel that same expression which comes the heart. Thanks again my friend, I really appreciate the encouragement.

The pedal steel has lots of sounds, depending on how you hear them. Al Green has that horn sound all over it
and the guitar responds to that. Soul music, no matter how you see it, if it works don't fix it. |

Bishop Ron,
Love that song, wish more people were playing tunes like that on the steel, maybe you could do a Curtis Mayfield song, I've been listening to him a lot, or a Joe Sample (Crusaders) song, especially since Joe passed this last fall, he's always been my favorite player.
Keep up the great work!, love watching your videos! _________________ Regards, Craig

Hi ya Craig! (Stock)
Glad to hear from you, and glad you love my rendition of Rev. Al Green`s 44 year old song. Also, I`m glad of your suggestion, for a Curtis Mayfield song, and Joe Sample. I`ll definitely see what I can come up with. Thanks for your encouragement, it means a lot, more than I can tell you. Just keep on watching, my warmest of greetings to your loved ones.
Sincerely,

Nice Ronnie. I enjoyed that. I'm wondering if you've done Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come". I'm hearing you doing that. |

Hi Kevin! (Hatton)
Glad to hear from you. Glad to know you enjoyed my effort to try to play the lead instrument on Rev. Al Green`s iconic song. It (the song) was the song that really boosted his career. Well, I would love to do Sam Cooke`s song, but for right now, one of the internationally famous Campbell Brothers, who are also members of our forum, by the name of Darick Campbell, has already covered the song, and is, or was, using it, in their tours. You Tube has it listed, and Darick being a close friend, well, you know how it is. well sooner or later I`ll get around to it as well. Just keep posted?
Anyway, thanks again for your support, it is appreciated.
