This guitar was built by Chet Wilcox, after receiving it I disliked the way it was built and learned that Darrel Styles of JCM guitars had bought out Wilcox and I sent it to him and had him take care of all the mistakes and he rebuilt it. I also put his decal on it because he owned the company

Hi Mark, I still do not understand the placement of Sho-Bud stickers on a guitar that is not a Sho-Bud. I ask is that legal? J.R.

A great big western Howdy JR,
I got a attorney buddy here on the forum, picks a little PSG for fun.
I will see if I can get him to weigh in on it.
We will get you a response asap.
Hate to see good folks loosin' sleep over decals.

However, as we know, the law has far reaching consequences, without disclosure, (which I think we have here. It says This aint a Sho Bud in Big Letters)
Whats next? we will need to have all men wearing toupee's have a sticker on their foreheads...."YES IT IS A HAIRPEICE"
Worst yet, beautiful ladies required to wear t-shirts saying "YES I HAVE HAD COSMETIC SURGERY!!!"
Hope to get a legal opinion soon.

Thanks Mark for your clever response. I just think it is misrepresenting of your guitar and could lead to some problems with a new beginner that could think he is getting a Sho-Bud. If it is not a Sho-Bud why put Sho-Bud stickers on it? J.R.

Am I the only one missing the price? I'm primarily a bassist so if it's not a 1,4,or 5 I might have missed it. But if the price is right, I might seriously be interested in this.

Hi Jb

Post by Mark Shuda »

Hi JB!
The current set up on the No-Sho / JCM/ Wilcox :whoa: is

standard emmons pedal 2,3,4
pedal 1 lowers both G#'s (strings 3 and 6) to F#

knees standard emmons,
in addition
horizontal left KL brings string 5, B down to A

Thanks for your continued interest on the no bud, and warmest holiday regards,

MS

As far as I know, those items aren't subject to copyright and trademark laws, and aren't usually up for resale. Yes, you can probably put whatever sticker you want on it ... Until you sell it. I agree that clear and full disclosure is a huge part of the equation.

Gorgeous guitar.

Can the Sho-Bud stickers be easily removed?

Stickers

Post by Wayne Ledbetter »

I agree. If you going to sell it, remove the stickers. There are plenty of reasons. One is that we should be held to a higher standard and set example for others. IMHO this is not setting a good precedent. I imagine I will receive bookos of mail about this. My question is what would happen if you put Mullen or some other sticker on it. I think we all know what would happen.

I see that this advert has been modified since last night. Look, you have Sho-Bud boards on it as well as the logo decals. This is patently dishonest and I'm more than a little surprised that our fearless leader has let this charade continue...

Cripes - I put Chevy hub caps on a Ford once - Lucky I'm still not in jail - A lot of players use different Fret boards - He says it's not a Sho-Bud -
If you put an Eminence speaker in a Peavey amp - Is it no longer a Peavey??
Get over it - He is being honest about what he has!!!!

If you cannot see the difference between a fake Sho-Bud and your hubcaps, you've spent too much time on the tractor... ;- )

Right. I don't know how many people decided not to steal my Tone King amp after I put the Peavey badge on it.

So if I put a George L String Logo on my Steel and Play SITs on it am I breaking a copy write. Especially if the company is out of business?
I thought this was an add to sell a guitar maybe we need to start another post to argue this point or wait till he gets an answer back from the lawyer.
