What ever happened to Steve McClure?
He was playing steel for Garth Brooks when Garth was doing local county fairs and then made it big.

That's why I know nothing. I don't do FaceBook.
When I met him back about 1988-89 at the county fair, I think he said he was living in Tennessee.
Is he still playing? |

I remember in three of Garth's live concert videos, probably "Ain't Goin' Down Til The Sun Comes Up" and "The River", and "Callin' Baton Rouge", Steve's Emmons guitar is seen. In 1997, when Garth and Trisha Yearwood did their duet, "In Another's Eyes", Steve was playing a Sierra steel. I'm guessing he switched to Sierra in 1997. |
