Noticed in a period ad for Peavey Session 500 amps that they were available with an 18" speaker option. Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever owned one of these beasts and if so, did the larger speaker greatly effect the overall tone (imagine the result was most likely increased bottom end)but most importantly, HOW MUCH DID IT WEIGH??? |

I don't think the 18" ever came about.
The original Session 500's (I had one) had a cabinet sized for the 15" speaker. The later Session 500's had a larger cabinet that would accept an 18" speaker. But, from what I recall the 18" didn't work out (sound wise) and just the 15" speaker was used. |

Jack...Thanks for the reply. When I read the original ad I could not imagine Peavey wanting to make this amp any larger or heavier than it already was (I presently have one, and even with a 1501 BW Neo installed, it is still a beast). |

I think they DID make them, but probably only to limited orders. I've only seen 1 _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

The first Session 500 was the same size a a Vegas 400, That's the 500 that I had, then came the bigger cabinet. They were great amps....if only they could have been lighter
