Just changed strings and lost my ability to tune F lever on 4th string/E to F…tried backing off the nylon adjuster and retune open E, but still could not get the E to F…works fine on 8th string/ E to F….any troubleshooting suggestions? Thx, JV

General, not Zum-specific thought process if I'm trouble-shooting this on my guitar:

--does the C pedal work ok?
--do the changer fingers look lined up properly at the endplate?
--do the pull rods sit properly in the bell cranks on F lever and C pedal?

The things can sometimes get unseated on the undercarriage when string tension is released and the changer is slacked.

These are my first thoughts.

Does the F lever raise the 4th string but not enough?
Or is not not pulling the string at all?
If the first, are you certain of the string gauges of your new set?

Do you have the older comb style bellcrank? It might have moved to another tooth. Try moving it farther out.
But first make sure the C pedal isn't overtuned.

I agree with Lane's idea, make sure you are using a 14 plane gauge string on #4 & A wound 30 on string 8, hope this helps, JDF
