Hey Aaron, there is a silverface on CL in the Bay Area for a decent price. I don't know much about these or diff. between the silverface & orig blackface, I know the later (80s) blackfaces had a SS rectifier.

imho the black face pro reverb the best guitar amp fender made - great steel amp too. spongey squeezy tube rectifier goodness and laden with magic Fender dust. I love mine

I believe these are the same as a vibrolux reverb, but with 12's. Anybody know if I am correct?

Pro Reverb is a step up from a Vibrolux Reverb. Larger power transformer, bigger choke, a few other power supply differences. Same output transformer though...Jerry

Both great amps :D I think the Pro pushes 40W and the Vibrolux 35W or so. The Vibrolux is not much bigger than a Deluxe, and has 2-10's and 35W vs the Deluxe's single 12 and about 22W. I had a BF Pro Reverb back in the 70's with a '68 Les Paul and got all the sound I needed for the top 40 gigs I played. I'm actually thinking of going smaller (Princeton) and mic'ing at gigs - now only if I could grow some hair and play like Jerry Garcia

In 1964 the Pro was the same as the "Super Reverb Amp" with different speaker configuration (2x12). I had a 1966 and loved it, best amp I ever had until I blew a speaker!

Rick, it's a vibroclone. Started life as a beat-up BMR. Several mods were done to boost the clean headroom. Also has a Telonics neo 15. Amp is 49 lbs.

Raybob at tube-tone can build you anything you want brand new .. eyelet board and all .. any Fender type you like foe a reasonable price considering what old ones are going for ..
