@JB: :lol:

All my precious gear was stolen back in 1998, so I totally understand the sentiment. My local police gave me the brushoff, so in spite of being a strong believer in law and order, it made me understand that the police have to actually do their job to preserve faith in the system.

BTW, if moderators are around, due to the sensitivities involved, this thread would be less publically visible in the member's only 'forum feedback' area.

That is definitely the guitar that Larry Hilt built for Buddy Cage. It has a lot of the parts that Larry and I designed for the Dekley H&S Custom Signature guitars, and even has Buddy's name plate on the front! For Buddy's and Larry's sake, I hope he finally gets it back.

I just got off the phone with Larry Hilt and he was very happy to hear about this. He wants to get involved in this as well, as he still has a financial interest in this guitar.

I knew something didn't seem right with the listing so I decided to check out old posts and found the discussion about It being stolen from Buddy. So I figured maybe someone here would be able to help out and check it out. Certainly glad I could help and hopefully Buddy will be reunited with this magnificent work of art soon!

Good call, Tom. I'll move it.

When the matter settled I'll move it back.

I remember when the theft occurred. I assumed it wound up in the river, since it was too unique an item to fence. Glad it surfaced!

Just saw the new follow-on posts after I had sent Buddy's mgt company an email about this. Glad to know the police are working on it. Interesting that the seller has a 100% positive rating on eBay.

I've played this very steel, many times. It is Buddy's steel.
