My latest Country Classic is "Bubbles In My Beer".
The origin of this song is rather clouded but it's generally credited to Bob Wills' vocalist, Tommy Duncan, and Cindy Walker.
Besides Bob Wills, others who have recorded it include Hank Thompson, Ray Price and Willie Nelson.
I finished up the tab for "Under the Double Eagle" last night. This song dates back many, many years. I have included it among the other Country Classics because it has been recorded by Bob Wills, Chet Atkins, Roy Clark and a few other country performers.
I found my copy of Scotty's "Anthology of Pedal Steel Guitar" and tabbed out the song written by Buddy Emmons when he was 14 years old: "Blue Jade". It's pretty close to Scotty's arrangement but has some minor differences. I guess you could call it the left-handed version.
My latest Country Classic was a #1 hit for Carl & Pearl Butler back in 1962: "Don't Let Me Cross Over (Love's Cheating Line)".
It has subsequently been recorded by:
Jerry Lee and Linda Gail Lewis
Jim Reeves & Deborah Allen
The Kendalls
& Dolly Parton
My latest Country Classic is from 1961: "Break It To Me Gently".
It was a big hit for Juice Newton but was also recorded by Brenda Lee and Lorrie Morgan.
What's interesting is listening to Christina Aguilera singing the song when she was only 9 years old. It's on You Tube.
I'm in the process of tabbing out several "Cowboy" songs. That is, songs with a western flavor. I have done a few in the past but here are the ones I've just completed: "Sioux City Sue"
"Streets Of Laredo"
& "Twilight On The Trail"
