Yea... Hard drives fail too.

Unfortunately there is no perfect, fail safe, solution.

Multiple backups is the safest strategy.

I have several CD-Rs burned in the late 90s that no longer play.

I have vinyl from the 50s that play as good as they did in the 70s...
