The SGN website is still up,with no mention of Bobbe's passing.I don't know what would happen if someone tried to place an order.

Could be the site is paid for a year at a time? That is the way my web site is and others that I looked at.

If that is the case, unless some legal action is taken to remove it, the site could be there until the end of the contract period.

At the very least someone should contact the estate attorney and have them contact the webmaster to at least disable the ordering mechanism,as it could muddle up the probate process. Bobbe had customers that are not on the forum and have no way of knowing that SGN is no more.

I've seen neglected websites left up for years and I seriously doubt anyone is paying for them. I guess somebody has to take the effort to physically remove them and sometimes its just doesn't get done for whatever reasons.

That's the only way I've ever seen web sites operate.
You also get a discount if you pay ahead a year or more.

FWIW Joey, all my websites have a credit card on file that gets charged monthly. They are not paid in advance for the whole year (so, yeah, I'm missing the discount). But of course, I'm not a large commercial site...

There are websites around that require no fees at all. They often have moribund entries which confuse people.

Yes, Vic Lawson would continue the SG Newsletter before Bobbe passed. Now Vic has continued the store operations in the same place.

I was fortunate to meet Herb and had many conversations and transactions with Bobbe..

Never met, but always admired Jimmy Day very much.

I didn't see any mention of it but the store Steel Guitar Nashville was sold to Vic. I was in the store the 3rd of Oct 2014 and talk with Vic and there are none of the old employees sill working there. Vic was very nice to me and enjoyed visiting with him.

I never was able to attend any of Larry's shows, but many people told me that he ran a good ship. On the other hand , I had many dealings with Jimmy, Herby, and Bobbe. All three played on my show, The Smoky Mountain Jamboree, many times.. In fact, in 22 years, I don't think Herby missed a one. If Bobbe couldn't be there, he would send an employee to run his booth. While Jimmy was doing a lot of traveling between Tennessee and Texas, he appeared at least a dozen times on the show. Every Steel Show in AMERICA , especially Scotty's Convention, miss those great Giants of the STEEL Guitar, more than mortal tongue can describe.. May they all REST IN PEACE now and forever..

I believe you are right Stan, his name was Harold Fogle, what a picker indeed. That fella on his other side is pretty good too.

Never realized it, but in that pic all three of them, Doug, Bobbe, and Harold are all playing Nashville LTD. Kudos to Mr. Gary Rittenberry, something to be said for that as well

Seems those pics are from somewhere around '90-'91 Stan.

I just noticed these photo's. Great seeing them all, they bring back some memories of my life in Florida. The picture of Harold Fogle, he's wearing a T-shirt that says "I'm Steel Harold". If my memory is correct, Larry self told me that Harold Sneezed and somehow cracked or broke one of the vertebrae in his neck. When that happened he lost some mobility and was using crutches to get around. Seems like I remember him playing the theme song to "The Flinstones" every time I saw him. I always remember Bobby Seymour showing up at the jams with a very young blond beauty he was married to back then. Too bad all those jams ended. They were all great. But back to the topic at hand, RIP Bobby Seymour and all the rest of those fellow in the pictures that have moved on.
