Ed Phipps

Post by Gere Mullican »

A dear friend of mine and fellow steel guitar lover, Ed Phipps, passed away Easter sunday. He lived in Arizona. We were ship mates aboard the USS Wisconsin in the 1950's. Rest in peace, my friend.

Is it the same Ed Phipps who lived in Illinois in the 1950s? If so, I played a lot of jobs with him way many years ago..

Gere, are you familiar with the Navy Log at the Navy Memorial in Washington DC: http://navylog.navymemorial.org/NavyLog ... fault.aspx
I don't see either you or Ed listed. Registering you both would be a good memorial to a friend.
Fair winds and following seas to him.

Diane, I tried creating an account and filling in all the required info but without success. Got any clues as to how?

No, I guess you'll have to call them. I'm sorry it doesn't work. I haven't registered anybody since the online system went into place. It used to be a $25 donation per entry, but I don't know it that applies anymore.
