Marty Stuart Show

Post by Brett Day »

I watched Marty Stuart's show on RFD-TV tonight and I loved Gary Carter's steel playing with one of my favorite artists, Lorrie Morgan, and Connie Smith too. Gary sure knows how to play his Zumsteel!

Gary Carter has a fantastic sound. Nice and crisp, but with an edge. Not too clean, which can sound sterile for hard country. IMO, of course.

Less chat, more hat.

I am putting this homemade video up ONLY because GARY CARTER is playing steel on it. It's a chance for you all to hear this great steeler play some Texas Swing, which - amusingly - he was concerned about doing since he doesn't play much swing. I've known Gary for a long time, and he is a terrific guy, and he graciously played on this otherwise just-for-fun recording. I actually put the iMovie together for my step-daughter who is the singer on this tune - ROLY POLY.
