Li'l Izzy is back!!!
I used a "Li'l Izzy" for years, then it was lost, I missed it now they are back. For those who have used an Izzy you know what it can do for your sound, If you want clean steel guitar sound with each note clear you should try it, you'll love it. Buddie,
Thank you for your nice comments regarding Li'l Izzy. With all of the equipment on the market today, it's always good to hear when a seasoned player still likes to play a steel guitar with simply great tone.
Thank you again Buddie.

Buddie, hope I'm not busting in on your post, but there's so much on the Li'l Izzy here on the Forum lately that its kinda, pick one to get in on...
Anyhow, I'd like to say that I hesitated too long before finally getting one, or two of these fine units...When I did finally order and get two of them, I was disapointed that I'd waited as long as I had...I'm hearing things that I'd never heard before in a good way...the clear, bell like sound coming out of my amps, had not come out of them before hooking up the Li'l Izzy's...Very clean, lots of bite, and yes, string separation without thinness, and I think improved sustain as well...so if you were waiting like me, DON'T!!!, you're only putting off sounding better.
I'd like to add as well,,, what a dandy guy Craig is to deal with...He called me one evening after I had gotten the Izzy's and having sent him a couple of samples of the sound difference..., he didn't have to, he'd already made the sale and I'd already said that I was happy with my purchase, but he did anyhow and was gracious and complimentary...we talked everything from steels to flying and even a little church...He has a great wit, very personable and when you hang up, you feel like you've made a new friend.

Two Li'l Izzys
Dale,
Just saw your post here, so this is a much too late thank you note. Your compliments and praise of Li'l Izzy is much appreciated. Always good to get acquainted with another steel player. Just wish the distance wasn't so far. Would love to visit and hear you play. Thank you again Dale.
Sincerely,

Craig, let me add that when I posted this, the only place I'd used them was in church...I was set up in church for a benefit concert two weeks prior to this and ordered and then used them there for the first time.
When I got back home with everything I didn't set up for a few days, but my Son wanted to come over and play so I finally did...and when I did, WOW!!!...I hadn't heard them in the "Music Room" but when I did, it gave me that same feeling when I first hooked up the Profex ll and then again when I hooked up a second amp...this was that feeling all over again...it just sparkles in there and I play with a big cheesy grin on my face...I love the sound coming out of my amps more then at any time in 40 years of playing...Mind you it has exposed some weeknesses in my technique, pick noise and such, but you warned of that and it's something I should be trying to improve on anyhow.
So again, my hats off to you Craig, and Thanks...You have rejuvenated my playing...I'm as pumped as I was when I first started to play all those years ago.
Very Happy,
Dale

"Rejuvenated and Pumped"
Thank you again Dale.
It's posts like yours that rejuvenate my interest in hearing great sound from every steel guitar, and it's the sincere compliments such as yours that get me "pumped" to order more Li'l Izzy parts.
Take care Dale.

Way back in the mid 80's, I purchased a Lil Izzy at the ISGC, but it didn't work when I got home. At that time I couldn't find the manufacture so I just threw it away.
I received a phone call a week ago from Craig and we had a nice talk. He sent me a new one NO CHARGE which I just received and tried out. I'll not be without it from now on! Huge difference, I thought I was getting good results with my present rig but this made it even better.
Thanks Craig,
Geo

George,
Thank you for your nice comments.
It was disappointing to learn that the first unit had apparently developed a problem. However, it's good to hear that you like the difference that today's Li'l Izzy provides and hopefully, this new one will serve you well for years to come.
Again, thank you George.

I have had mine for a couple months now and it makes a big difference. I too have had Mr. Baker call and more than once thanking me for telling others about the product and my comments on the forum. Then I sent him a video with me playing White Christmas with the Lil Izzy. A great product built by a fantastic gentleman, thanks Mr. Baker.

Paul,
As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments here on the Steel Guitar Forum. It's the people like you who make this a wonderful community and place to get acquainted with some especially good friends.
Paul, if the Dallas program wasn't held in the springtime, your White Christmas might steal the show.
Thank you again Paul, and Happy Thanksgiving

I had the opportunity to use my new Izzy last night at a concert in this very large church we were booked in. WOW, what a serious difference in the string separation! We are scheduled for another session in Nashville in January, so I am very anxious to to hear the results on the next project we do. I've used the Izzy before but lost my first one, now this one will be under wraps till I'm ready to hit that first note. Thanks Craig for re-releasing a GREAT product.
Very satisified customer.

Battery Life
Hi Pete,
Thank you for writing. The output jack (cord to volume pedal) controls the on-off function. However, Li'l Izzy users will tell you the current drain is so low that battery life is not a concern. If you play a lot, you might consider changing the battery every six to eight months for peace of mind.
Again, thank you for your post Pete.
Warmest wishes for the Christmas Season

hey craig...there's a youtube clip of bobby black playing outside with an izzy plugged in. this is notable because i've heard bobby play his carter pedal steel a few times in the last couple of years and he gets a decidely darker tone, which seems to work just fine for him. the outdoor clip with the izzy is clearer and sharper, which is nice to hear , especially outside where tone disappears.
i think there is a link to it under 'steel on the web'.

Thanks guys for the kind words regarding the White Christmas video and my sound. I thought my steel was a little bright. I have since cut some highs back and my steel sounds better to my ears. I am sold on Lil Izzy. I originally had a Izzy Plus I bought in 1981 at the ISGC in St. Louis. I hope soon to post some videos from a gospel singing with my highs cut back. Tone is everything to steel players and I thought Bobby Black sounded good with his Izzy too. Once again a big "Thank You" to Mr. Baker for his product.

Chris, Paul and everyone else who has said such nice things regarding Li'l Izzy. I would have had a "Blue Christmas" without you. Chris, thank you for the link. Always fun to see Bobby Black perform. We speak occasionally, but I haven't seen Bobby since the early 80s. He's one of those players that always makes it look effortless, similar to Leon Rhodes.
Speaking of Leon Rhodes, Leon spelled backwards is Noel and that reminds me, our stations are playing a ton of steel guitar Christmas instrumentals by all of the greats. Emmons, Franklin, Jernigan, Thumbs Carllile and Herby Wallace etc. If you'd like to sample some of the music, here is a direct link to our stream:
