Fender S/F Twin Reverb Amps...

Post by John Hanusch »

First, a '72, serial# A 49735, w/JBL D120F speakers. Has non push-pull master volume, footswitch & cover. This amp is in very good condition. There are a few vinyl bruises, but you have to look for them. The only mod I'm aware of is an added 'bias balance' pot (to match the two pairs of power tubes). This complements the factory 'bias level' control. Power tubes are Realistic, 'Long Life', 6L6GC's, matched & balanced.
As most know, amps like these have set standards for 'that sound/tone', -- not to get any contention started- that's why I used the plural. These have an appeal across the music spectrum and this one sounds as it should. A couple pots have a little scratch to them, so not perfect, but something easily addressed- to put your own imprint on it.
I've checked around and the JBL optioned Twins are scarce, some are priced less, but ratty, some are higher and are pristine closet queens. This one is in the middle, imho - your mileage may vary.
Price is $ 925., plus shipping/ins- U.S. (two containers). Also, I can deliver to Phoenix, AZ, for South-Western Steel Guitar Association show, Jan. 16, 17, 18, 2014. Get your reservations before Dec. 15, otherwise you pay mucho.

Second one,(below), is a '75-'76, 100w. linear, w/ push-pull master volume, serial# B-16238. Speakers are 12" Emminence and appear to be appropriate replacement ones. Labeled: 55-750 121013 8Ω . Only other mod I know of is an added 'bias balance' pot (to match the two pairs of power tubes), again to complement the factory 'bias level' control. Power tubes are Sovtek 5881/6L6GC's, matched & balanced.
A good sounding clean performing amp. Some minor scuff marks. Has vib/rev foot control and a cover.
Price $725. plus shipping or can delivery to Phoenix for January show. Thank you. John Hanusch, 520-310-6117.

Well, I'll take this opportunity to refresh this & note my mis-spelling of 'Eminence'. 'Edit' buttom, - 'timed out'.
Merry Christmas to you & yours, Thanks, John H.
