Most of us probably started with a 15" speaker, but recently
many have switched to a 12". What's your preference now?

I'll use a 12" if I don't have to turn it up to move a lot of air.

I still like 2 15". One in a Nv400 and another one driven by either a Fender Vibrasonic head or my '67 Dual Showman head. Works well but I don't have to move a lot of stuff in my current gig situation.

I have 2 Milkman amps. Both are essentially the same. One is a combo with a 15" and the other is a head with a 2/12" cab. I prefer the sound of the 12" speakers personally. But the difference is subtle.

But that's all a speaker does....

The small indoor venues that take place usually have a PA system ,I bring a line 6 pod hd and a 6" Berringer personal monitor, It does just fine, for outdoor seems that the bigger the better works best.

I like a 15 because I like a little less top end sparkle - bigger cone means slower movement, which translates to a sweeter midrange (to my ear)

My usual rig is a Mesa/Boogie with two 12" Tone Tubby Hempcones, but lately I've done a few gigs with the GK MB200 amp and one old 12" EVM. The Webb with its 15" JBL is retired, living out its days in the luxury of my practice room.

My answer to the poll was 2x12 because that's what I use most often.

I doing half my gigs with a single 12, and half with a single 15.
Always run just one speaker. Like it better.

15" is a SICA, K-130 or Telonics neo

12" is PV BW or Telonics neo

All are great.

Most people who voted come back to look at the results several times. People who aren't logged in (about 2/3 of viewers) can look but that can't vote. A 15% ratio isn't bad at all.

15" and 12" in separate cabinets. Separated by 6 or 8 feet when possible?

Voted for 2-15's.
Used the Stereo Steel head with two 15" cabs last night in a 4 piece w/ bass, drums, acoustic/vocal, Steel.
When ever stage room allows I use 2 15" cabs.
Some gigs have gone with a Session 400 with just 1-15".
I have one 12" cab one 2-12" cab but usually use them for guitar.
