1946 Rickenbacher 6 string value

Hi folks. I haven't really followed the vintage lap steel market much lately. My friend wants to sell me this guitar. What is a fair price? His research showed him it was a 1946. It's in really great shape. Thanks.

There is one of those at Sylvan Music for $695. It's missing a coverplate but otherwise in good condition. Sounds fantastic.
