My Latest Youtube Video, using my SD-10 Emmons

Post by Don Brown, Sr. »

A Big Hello to everyone,

To anyone interested, I just posted my latest video on youtube, using my 1998 SD-10 Emmons Lashley LeGrande III.

Yes the strings are over a year old, so there's zing in the sound, but I wanted to see how well she recorded just as she was.

I'd be interested in hearing all opinions (as always) whether or not, they are Good, Bad, or Indifferent.

Thanks a whole lot for giving a listen. More should be coming soon, as long as my health allows me to continue.

Note: Video was recorded using the Emmons, with my old Peavey Session 500. No other effects were added.

Thanks again for taking the time to listen...... Don

Very nice Don, sounded good old strings and all...There's nothing like an old Session 500 is there, but arn't you a little old to be packing it around, I know mine is making me old, and I hate making my skinny son carry it for me anymore, or he'll end up like me...   ...Love how you put the video together too, really nice job!!!

Hey brother Don, your old buddy from N.J. is still watching you,
and I think your really doing great as always. :) I sure wish we
could get together again like the old days, but we can at least still
comunicate with each other. Keep up the great steeling my fiend.
I love "Farewell Party" I always played it for my Mom and Dad.

Hey Dale,

Thanks a lot. You sure are right in asking if I'm a bit too old to be packing that old Session 500 around.

These days, it's a piece of cake. I don't even pack myself around much anymore. So whenever I need it moved I get my son to do the moving. He thought my old Fender Twin was heavy, so I had to let him see what amp was really heavy. :) He said he's glad I only play at home now.. :D

Thanks again,

Don

Howdy Carl,

Thanks a whole lot. I'm not doing so great, but I am having a whole lot of fun and relaxation trying to get back some of what once was. A very difficult task, but it's fun anyway.

Yes, getting together would be a lot of fun. Steel players in this area are few and far between.

Last time I heard you play on your video you were doing a real nice job and seemed to really be having fun. Keep up the good work.

I learned if I can keep smiling that's what's important. On bad days, it's a whole lot better than not. :)

Thanks again,

Don

Hi Joseph,

The D-10 that's covered to the right of me, is my Black 2005 Carter 8+5. My Red 2004 Carter D-10 8+5 is in the other room, and my old original 1968 G.E.S. D-10 8+4, is still stripped down for her cabinet repairs, that I never (yet) got around to doing. Hopefully one day, I'll get her back up and playing again, if my health allows me to.

Thanks a whole lot for watching my Video. And keep up that great work!

Joe,

My wife said to tell you she said the same thing you did about the steel guitars.... :))

Each one I bought with good intentions of selling one and they all (now) play so well I hate parting with them. Carters are one of the best playing steels I've owned. As is the Emmons now too.

However, one day, I'd like to pick up a good D-10 ZUM. So I guess you know that's when I'll be putting one or two of these up for sale.

Thanks again,

Don
