Kevin, are you going to the SWSGA show in Phoenix? If so, are you bringing any of these speakers with you?

Kevin, please e-mail the price again. I'll probably get one soon. I blew my D-130F last Sat. night. Boy, that's an ugly sound. : )

Eminence EPS-15C equipped Webb 614-E w/Fox Mod

Post by Jerry Van Hoose »

:D I've just purchased a new Eminence EPS-15C from Kevin and installed it in my Webb 614-E w/Fox Mod. The highs are sweet and clear, the lows are crisp, not "boomy", and the string separation is more definite. Did I mention the weight reduction? Wow! The amp is now much more manageable in terms of weight. If better overall fidelity and/or weight reduction is a consideration, then the EPS-15C will definitely serve your purpose.

One of the best things that I like about this speaker is the clarity of the low end. On other speakers when you turn up the bass you start to lose string definition and things can get boomy. You can turn up the bass on this speaker and you get a defined edge all the way. Bass with string clarity definition. A real revolution in steel speaker design by Eminence. And it only weighs 7.8 pounds. 300 watts.

Just placed an order! Looking forward to receiving the speaker and building my new amp/cabinet. I will be using the GK 200MB and the T.C. TC Electronic M350 Effects/Reverb unit all combined. Hopefully end up with something decent and somewhat light weight...
Been at this damn thing for a few years now. Not so sure that I'm getting anywhere but it is fun. Sometimes.

Break in

Post by Al Risbeck »

I have one of these in an Emmons Legrande 600 amp and one in a Fender Steel king, they are by far the best sound I've found. I hooked up a CD player and played them for about 24 hours and they really came to life. I don't remember who, but someone told me to break them in that way and he was right. MHO.

For anyone interested in how this speaker sounds recorded, listen to Alan Jackson's last album. That's Dan Dugmore with a Sho-Bud through a Fender Twin with the new Eminence EPS-15C in it.

Here is what I did with mine. Installed it in a Nashville 400 cabinet, fit perfectly, did not need to modify a thing!

Then I installed a Yamaha Rev100 reverb/effects processor where the chassis was located and I used my GK MB200 to push it! All total it comes in at 25 lbs.including the GK amp sitting on top (which by the way stores nicely in the back of the cabinet when transporting)! I love it! You will note that the "EMINENCE" marker is proudly displayed near the bottom center of the grill!

Just this week I installed the new Eminence speakers in my Webb and Evans amps.
Incredible how great they sound and how tough they are. I'm now a believer.
Playing my new Mullen G2 through the 40 year old Evans Hybrid 200 equipped with the new Eminence speaker is the most inspired I've been in many years. Yes, really.
