You can add a remote switch jack to any boss pedal with just a couple wires. Hmm...convenient for steel players with the pedal sitting on the floor.
Anybody tried this?

In my Top 40-rock days I used an Ibanez multi-effect rack on a stand next to me for my guitar rig, and various Boss pedals in it's loop, keeping them up on the rack where I could tweak knobs. I usually did that quick mod to the Boss pedals run to a keyboard sustain switch on the floor. Worked great. An obvious trick for users of multiple Boss or similar pedals would be to mount a small strip of momentary switches right on the steel to control multiple pedals.

A different approach (but in the same vein) is this multi-loop switcher I built from scratch. The thinking is not original---there are commercial versions available and I know at least one other person who has also built such a project.
