I want to publicly express my appreciation to Ray DeVoe for coming to my aid and enabling me to sell a Sierra steel to a Forum member in Sweden. Ray, though needing to leave town for several days due to work, took the time to pick up at the steel from my sister's house, pack it expertly, and send it on its way. Had he not helped, I could not have made the sale as the guitar in case was 80lbs and my sister could not move it.
I tried local UPS stores in the New Port Richey area, shippers, and couriers but had absolutely no luck until Ray offered to help. I might add, he did this without asking for compensation.
So again, Ray, thank you for all you have done. Hope to meet you when I visit my sisters in Florida. Thx, stevet

Hi Steve
I'm always willing to try and help out a fellow player. I had not spotted your post asking for help. My friend, Pete Nicholls wrote and informed me of the situation and I took over from that point.
Thanks for letting me know that the steel arrived safe and sound on the other end.
Maybe we can find time to link up when you are back in Florida.

Ray,
Thanks for stepping up to do that superb packing and shipping task
The steel arrived safe and sound in Clackamas, Oregon earlier this week. Now I just need to find the time to work on it for Mikael Bergkvist, as I'm pretty dang busy at the moment. I can't wait to retire from my "day job" at the end of the year. That will free up a lot of time for me going forward. I took all of last week off from work, just to try to get a little more caught up and it was worth it! _________________ Best regards,

Hi Lynn
I'm happy to hear that the guitar arrived safe and sound. The last guitar that I bought was packaged super well by the shipper but it still arrived with damage. The guitar had been handled so roughly that the Emmons single coil pickup separated from it's mounting base. I really hesitate to ship items these days.
It's good to hear that you are close to retirement and that you will then be able to devote more time to a profession that you love. That nasty little word named "work" has a habit of getting in the way of things we like to do. I should be joining you in retirement in less than 3 years.
Keep turning out those great refurbs.

Well, I have more people to thank. Mikael Bergkvist, who bought the guitar, was very patient until I was lucky enough to have Ray's help. I'd also like to thank Pete Nicholls for mentioning my situation to Ray. From there, Ray took over the responsibility and burden for safely packing and getting the guitar on its way to Lynn. Again, Ray your generous help has been greatly appreciated. Sure hope to meet up when I am at my sisters' places near you. I am sure Lynn will get the Sierra in tip top-shape for Mikael. steve t |

Hi Mickey
Good hearing from you. You sure have been turning out some nice guitars recently. That little red PRP SD 10 sounds great and it's going to make a fine guitar for someone.
Your contribution's to the steel community have been great. Thanks for all of the on line lessons and support that you are generous enough to offer our group.
Keep in touch

Actualy, both Ray and Mickey are both great guys. Ray is going the extra mile for shipping stuff across the Atlantic (I am still a happy user of the pre-amp Ray sold me) and Mickey is helping us Europeans to get everything out of their guitars. I just expanded the C6 part of my Mullen D-10 and their here is, with his C6 lessons. |
