E-F# on VKL or LKL2?

E-F# on VKL or LKL2?
I'm thinking of putting the 4th stg E-F# change on a KL and I would like to hear from players who have done this and find out if you like it best on a VKL or a LKL2?

Duane Marrs introduced me to that change on the LKV in '72 & I used it for many years. I don't have it on my present guitar & miss it occasionally. If it were me I'd put the 4 raise +1 back on the LKV & probably put the 5 & 10 -1/2 on a second LKR like I used to have it.

I presently have it on a 2nd RKR. But I am going to move it to the 8th pedal position, since I want to do something else with that RKR. Ralph Mooney has had it on the floor forever. I kinda like this idea.
On a U-12 it creates a full 7 (consecutive) note 13th chord when the E's are lowered to Eb (splitting) and the equivalent 7th and 8th pedals (C6-D10's), are engaged.
I use it now with RKR, but coming off the volume pedal to engage it with A and B is really no great shakes for me. Buddy comes off his volume pedal all the time.
However, it can be very good on LKV since it is rarely used without A and B engaged (E9th). So this is ideal for any vertical lever. In other words vertical levers work best IMO, IF at least one pedal is engaged when the lever is pushed up. I simply cannot lift my leg; and have to push my toe against something. I would rather it be a pedal than the floor.

I can only make 3 moves per string on my Williams, so the 4th string (B6) D#-E on the 6th pedal has been sacrificed; but I get the E note by lowering string 1 [F#] to E with pedal 6.
There are some cool moves with the E-F# change. A lick could go like say, mash
pedals B & C twice kind of quickly, move over to pedals A & B and mash and while the

I have it on RKR (no C pedal). I use it with the A and B pedals to get the B and C pedal effect. I don't think I could do all three on the left leg. I split it with my LKL (E's to D#) to get an F on the 4th string and an D# on the 8th. add the A and B pedals to get a 9th-5.

I have my LKV 4 E-F#. On my LKL2 I have 6 G#-G.
Reason for not switching them around is I use the LKV together w LKL1 (E-F) to get a sus4 with or without Aped in A+F pos. There are also some nice things to be done if LKL2 and LKV switch changes (but then I would have both 3 & 6 G#-G on LKV) Then I can go from a major chord in A+F pos to a minorb5 w A+LKV.
What I am trying to say is... always see the lever you intend to install in combination w all the other levers you have because it will eventually tell you where to put it regarding on what you want to do. If you only wanted the change by itself it could be placed anywhere. LKV E-F# on 4 is a good choice as I see it.

I've had it on the vertical for 25 years, but I'm no pro. I think it's probably limited me somehow, especially since I don't have the B->A# that would normally go there. I've too accustomed to it to ever give it up.

Since that same minor chord is one fret up with the E-EbKL, I thought that putting E-F# change on the VKL would give me a different moving note that would also work with other stuff and be a good change for playing Rock licks too. No gig tonigh, so I'll move some rods and see how it works!

I used to use that change for lots of years and decided at one point to stop using it. Just this year, I put it back on, using LKV. I raise both E's so I can get the effect of pedal C on strings 6,8 and 10. Glad I did. I also still use pedal C.
