Post by Billy Phelps »

The next SouthEast Texas Steel Guitar club meeting in Katy will be on Sunday May 5th 2:30pm. The building will be open at 2pm for setup.

We will meet at Life Church which is located at 26189 Westheimer Parkway in Katy.

Featured Player:
Mark Everson from Sugarland, TX will be featured on steel guitar and fiddle. Mark has a passion for traditional country and western swing and is faithful member of our SE Texas Steel Guitar group.

We will also have a jam time for those who bring their steel guitars.
We want more steel players to be featured. If you only have 2-3 prepared songs. we can arrange for a short featured spot just let us know.

Directions to the LIFE Church building are:

Take the exit for Pin Oak Rd ( Katy Mills Mall - exit 740 I think? )
Take Pin Oak Rd. south.

Yeah, Lee, Tim is coming with me & Bobby Keith is planning to ride up with me also. Not sure if you know Bobby, but he's a drummer. I asked Billy if Bobby could play drums & give Igor a break.

Well, if we have a drummer, maybe we could persuade Billy to play steel? We seldom get to hear him on steel and he's one of the best.

Hearing Billy Play steel would be a treat.
Now the treat would be if you can get Bobby to play the harmonica and sing! Bobby is a multi talented musician, drums,Harmonica, guitar and a voice.

Lee I'm from Houston and tried to make the meetings when I could. When I came I always took pictures and often shot video which I shared with everyone. I only brought my steel a couple of times, I learned more from sitting and watching than playing. There's a bunch of old footage on youtube that I shot Of Jody Cameron Bobby Bowman and Randy Boyd.
