i was there! - great set
what really impressed me was Mike's (and the bands) ability to do something different with his sets that a fill in band could follow. this is not an easy task, even with good musicians. most of the time, thats why everyone sticks to straight genre playing - everything has been done x100 before ..."shuffle in E boys" kind of stuff.
Mike did "Work Song" - that was the first "jazz" tune I learned in school Jazz Band way back when i was a teen - it was good to hear that one again. _________________ '65 Sho-Bud D-10 Permanent • '54 Fender Dual-8 • Clinesmith T-8 • '38 Ric Bakelite • '92 Emmons D-10 Legrande II |

Thanks. I probably would have liked to have it boil over, but playing in that room sometimes gets the best of my nerves. So, I went for vibe instead. I think that was the first tune of my Friday set. I like the tone I got better the next day through the Telonics preamp. I think this was just Captain Ivan's Goodrich volume pedal right into a Peavey. The Clinesmith sounds great through anything, though.
Thanks for posting. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |
