new Bruce Lofgren CD features lots of steel guitar

Post by Earnest Bovine »

Bruce Lofgren is a Los Angeles based composer/arranger/guitarist whose main creative outlet has long been the 17 piece Bruce Lofgren Jazz Orchestra. He also plays around town with smaller groups, and after I sat in with his trio, he decided to write a few tunes for quartet featuring the steel guitar. The result is this CD. Jack LeComte plays drums, and Steel Guitar Forum member Mike Flick is on bass.

Doug,
Man alive,,,,just your teasures alone is enough. I can only imagine how great the whole production will sound.
Can't hardly wait till mine comes in.
Thanks for all that you do for music and especially the pedal steel guitar.

I got a copy at Doug and Bruce’s Sunday night gig, and all I can say is WOW! The English language does not contain enough superlatives to describe this CD.

Doug has always been one of the most creative and imaginative steel players on the planet, and he has a musical soul mate in Bruce Lofgren. Together, along with the rhythm section, they make magic.

This CD belongs in everybody’s collection.
