The next Georgia Steel Guitar Association Peach Jam will be June 9th at the Conyers, Georgia VFW Hall.
Our special guest will be Buck Reid from Nashville. Buck has had a storied career but is best known as the steel player in Lyle Lovett’s Large Band.
We will be honoring Atlanta native, Randy Sorrells with our Legend Award. Randy was one of the main club players on the Atlanta scene in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He has worked with many national acts and most recently spent several years in the Montgomery Gentry Band.
We will also have a complete line up of local and regional players and our great staff band of Johnny Thomas, Wayne Smith, Jim Hartley, and Bob Strickland.
The venue is
VFW Hall
1432 VFW Dr. SW
Conyers, GA 30012
Check out our web site http://www.georgiasteelguitar.com/
Come on out for a great day of music and fellowship!

Just a couple days now til the "big" show and everyone's really excited to see and hear Buck Reid and all the talent lined up by the Ga. Steel Guitar Association. And, of course we are looking forward to honoring Randy Sorrells. Randy's a great player from this area who has made his living playing locally and in Nashville for many years and deserves some recognition for all of his work and dedication to the pedal and lap steel guitars.
Also, I just want to mention I'll have a couple of the new Telonics TSNEO speakers in cabinets for you to see and hear. I've been playing through them for about 6 months now and they sound fantastic.
Hope you can make it this Sunday to the GaSGA Peach Jam in Conyers. A full day of steel guitar music and fellowship. Can't get better than that! |

Outstanding show! So nice to see so many old friends, and hear so many fine sets. Buck was, of course, stellar, and there were lots of other tasty surprises. So nice to see Randy recognized. Thanks, everybody for the hard work and time in making this happen! _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

As Mark said, it was a great day. I thought this was our best show yet! Buck Reid was awesome. Enough can't be said about his talent and what a nice guy. I was so honored to present the Legend Award to Randy Sorrells.
Thanks to everyone who attended, performed, and volunteered to help out. And a special thanks to the officers, who work so hard and make being President of this organization so easy!
Stay tuned for details on our next one in November! _________________ Bill Cunningham

Ditto & cudos to all; I concur: one of the best shows ever. Everything was so well organized and it all ran so smoothly. Entertainment was top notch & all players had their game on. From the ladies working the front door to the stage hands moving equipment, the show ran super smooth. No drama,...just good ol' Southern hospitality & fellowship. I think this was my favorite show ever. |

I agree, it was one of the best shows ever. Buck Reid is a truly talented player. His CD "Work in Progress" is one of the best I've ever heard. The more I listened to it (and practiced with it), the more impressed I was with Buck and the other musicians on the album.
Already looking forward to the next show! _________________ Tele -> cord -> amp |
