Interesting. I've been playing standard guitar for 35 years and playing this cleanly at speed is pretty challenging, at least for me. His point about practicing with feeling is a good one and rarely talked about.

Hmmmm. I wonder how this idea of note-muted strum-note would translate to steel guitar?
