I hope y'all don't mind me plugging my brother Scott's upcoming cd, Dreamers, for which we launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign last week.

It is a NC based project, jazz; 8 original tunes, 1 standard, and covers by Dylan and Nick Drake... The core group is Scott Sawyer on guitars, Ron Brendle on acoustic bass, Dave Finucane on tenor sax, Brian Sullivan on drums, Bobby Cohen on drums; and special guests Tony Williamson (from this forum) on mandolin, poet Bruce Piephoff does a spoken word tune, and Grammy nominated vocalist Kate McGarry (she sings a face melting version of Nick Drake's Riverman).

Scott's last cd, Go There, released in '07 did pretty well as far as airplay and reviews go; and featured heavyweights Oteil & Kofi Burbridge from the Allman Bros, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and Derek Trucks Band. While Dreamers is stylistically very different from Go There, I am just as fired up about it.

I encourage you to click on the link, and check out the video, and please forward it to anybody who might be interested, gracias!

Thanks for reading this!

Hello, just a quick note to say we have 8 hours left in our Kickstarter campaign to crowd-fund this cd, and we're very close to meeting our target. No steel guitar, this is jazz from NC, and we have Tony Williamson from this forum on mandolin. Hear some audio samples, including Tony Smile here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1074193657/scott-sawyer-dreamers/posts and see the video here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1074193657/scott-sawyer-dreamers - Please let any of your jazzhead friends know about this; if you're feeling inclined to do so, that is Smile
