............amazing little 6 string lap steel tuned C6th (E-C-A-G-E-C) playing a pedal styling. The req't technique to play this way is to avoid the Sixth sound ie no strums for instance.
I use mostly palm blocking but you also have to incorporate a litte finger/thumb blocking.
A real challenge but the results are very satisfying when mastered.
One of my students who I have been teaching this way is doing amazingly well and it is a pleasure for me to chord along when he plays his lessons. It is easy to teach and ClicTab lends itself very well. A minimum of symbols and slants( but they are difficult ones)
Please check out my ClicTab Site and let me know if I can help. Here's the link to "Pedal Your Own"..

Roy,
I do not understand. Do you have a course for sale teaching this method or an add-on for those who have the software? A look on your site did not make me wiser.
I have an ancient version of Clictab.
Please elaborate, thanks.

Hallo Helmut!
I do not at present have a course on how to play lap steel with a pedal feel but am in the process of doing that and will be available in the near future.
It is not necessary to have ClicTab to learn my music. I generate my Tablature with the software and anyone can use it.
I can do lessons on the Pedal Feel for Lap Steel six string C6 if you or anyone is interested.
By going to my site my email address is there.
Danke Schon and good luck to you Helmut. _________________ Custom Tabs Various Tunings

Hi Roy.... Great job.. I had to chuckle when I listened to it...... as right now I was emulating the big E on his song BLUE JADE..... Trying to make Gibby (Gibson console) sound like his recording (Pedal pulls and all.) Lots of fun. Your #1 fan Lee |

Thanks Dean!
I would really like to hear your non pedal take on Buddy's Blue Jade when you get it finished.
Will look forward to that if it is possible?

Roy,
I love it that you have some pedal flavorings without the "standardized sound of the pedals that you hear so much (A-B pedals). Probably for the average non-steel player listening, they just hear steel.
I can't remember the name of the record, but Jerry Byrd "played pedals" on a lap steel.
He even fooled an unnamed player who declared to me that he has a record with Jerry playing pedals. Not!
The execution of Jerry's bar hand was spectacular.
That guy really new how to spin the bar.
I'm not sure, but he may have had hair on his palms. :0) _________________ Excel 3/4 Pedal With An 8 String Hawaiian Neck, Sierra Tapper (10 string with a raised fretboard to fret with fingers), Single neck Fessenden 3/5
