First you have to appreciate just how devoid of any practical skills I am - every time something goes wrong with my car, a knee-lever or an amp it's a virtual certainty that I'm going to be calling in a professional and suffering the fiscal consequences!

One of my Goodrich volume pedals was misbehaving yesterday (nothing coming from the amp) and, although I could see for myself that the string wasn't moving as it should, I was resigned to the fact that I'd be packing-and-shipping this unit somewhere to get it fixed.

On a whim I 'Googled' the problem - and I found Greg's comprehensive article on pot replacement. In with all that was a detailed description of how the string should be routed around the various spindles and some high-resolution pictures showing the proper method - end result? I got the pedal working (!!!

I've printed the picture and it'll live in my pac-a-seat from now on. I know most of you guys could do this in your sleep and I doubt you'll even know why I'm making such a fuss today, but it's so rarely that any manual job in this house is brought to a successful conclusion that I wanted to say 'Thanks!' to Greg for his generous and informative site.

I'm very much obliged to you, Greg!!!

Yup! I've availed myself of Greg's Goodrich photos a time or two. Thanks Greg.
