Hi guys,
Looks like I've seriously misplaced the manual for my Stereo Steel amp. Can the amp be run with only 1 speaker if necessary? Is that what the switch on the back is for? (Looking at the back - far right- there is a toggle switch where up is "LFT" and down is blank)
BTW, if anyone has a manual for this amp, I would be very appreciative if you could scan and email to me.
Thanks

GD Walker can send you a print manual. All you have to do is call him. He may have something he can load online, I don't know.
As I recall, he told me that it's OK to run one speaker on one side, just turn the volume off the unused one.
The LFT switch is a ground lift for your balanced line out.
Any questions or concerns you have will be cheerfully addressed by Gerry.
I don't have his number handy, but it should be on his website which is available from b0b's links here. |

Hey Roger my friend, I didn't know if you needed the
manual too, so as I was in the sending mode I thought
I'd go ahead and send you a copy and I wouldn't have
to look for it again later.
Since we're talking about Walker S/S amps do any of
you use a Lexicon MX300 or MX400 FX processer. I have
both and looking for a couple of good settings for them.
Got to go practice now. ...Happy New Year Guys.

Got answer from GD Walker.
I had emailed him and asked, "If necessary, can the stereo steel operate with one speaker only (without overloading the amp)."
Here's his answer:
"Using one spkr? Absolutely. If no spkr is plugged in a spkr out, that amp section is essentially off. In fact if you're doing a recording session or just want to practice with headphones, the amp is fine with no spkrs connected."
Note: My amp is the one with 2 large knobs - Master (Volume) and Effects. I don't know that his answer applies to any other models.
Good to know!

I've run mine many times with NO speakers hooked up. Everything was direct so I just plugged a mike cable into one of the direct outs. _________________ Jim Smith
