Left Hand Tendonitus

I've been noticing pains and cramps in my left hand between my 4th and 5th fingers lately. I think it's from playing steel. I haven't tried playing much in the last year or so but in the last month or so, I play every chance I get. Probably from holding the bar. Anyone else ever have this problem? Mine goes about half way to my elbow. I'll be reaching for an item and ¡¡WHAP!! Pain.

Yes... damn it.

Pretty sure I have an old injury aggravated by playing steel. Definitely tendonitis. Will get cortisone shots next week. Looking forward to it because this treatment works and is not very painful.

Tendon on top side of left thumb, and tendon on top side of little finger. I can't even open a beer!

I have been using advil, heat, and stretching by playing my Strat. Also using a Red Rajah which is lighter than my solid stainless bar.

It won't get better by itself. Playing through the pain will only make it worse.
My orthopedic doc is really helpful. He has fixed my shoulder, elbows, and now left wrist.

Seek and ye shall find!

I just developed Tendonitis in my right elbow and while lifting on my day job (paramedic) hurts, playing steel hasn't bothered it at all. (I have a house gig so moving equipment doesn't come into play) I also wear a brace while working which eliminates a great deal of pain. I start therapy within a week and I'm hoping that helps as steroid injections has not.

Ron, Ice is the preferred treatment for tendonitis and heat makes it worse....or so says my doctor and all the ER doctors that I've talked to about it. Might want to check with your doctor about it.

I was getting a tendonitis problem in my elbow that made my hand freeze up so I couldn't play just 2 weeks ago. Hurt like hell. I went to a Chinese accupunturist who has got everything working fine now. All a regular doctor wanted to do is sell me some drug and then tell me to stop playing. The Chinese guy fixed it with no problems.

Normally when I have a problem like this, I try to breath through my eyelids. And when I feel blue, I start breathing again. lol.

You guys can do your own research, but I never had milky-looking cataracts floating around inside my eyeballs until after I took cortisone shots in my elbow.

My optometrist told me she had seen several cases of people getting similar cataracts after getting the shots, while the doctor who gave me the shots said she should read her material more closely.

I got the shots, then I got the cataracts.
