David, just now read of your loss. I'm glad you got to be there before he left us...that means a lot for closure. I was deployed in the U S Navy when my dad passed in 1958. By the time I arrived home from Japan, he was buried. They didn't have jets then and I came home on a prop job with several stops for gas!!
You and your family are in my prayers...I saw you at the Legends Festival in Wichita Falls, but my wife was ill and I only stayed for a short while..you were up there with Dave A. and Maurice. God BLESS you and all your siblings and kin and give you all His peace in the middle of all your grief.

Thanks Monty...

Got this today.... from a friend...really was nice..

Dear David,

I'm very sorry to hear about your fathers passing. He is the single greatest pioneer steel guitar will ever know, our instrument and community would be nowhere today with out his trailblazing and innovation. I hope you and your family are doing well.

My condolences and appreciation

Thank you Matt....
