The Mooney bug finally hit me.
Been listening to tons of Waylon, tracks like Lonesome On'ry and Mean, Rainy Day Women, and Haggard tracks like the Tonight the Bottle and Swinging Doors, and the Buck Owens track Above and Beyond.
Ralph sounds like he may have quite an influence on one of my other favorites, Sneaky Pete.
What are some more good examples of Mooney's Moonyisms?

Have a look at the instruction of Mooney Style Hammer-Ons and Pull-Offs used in the intro to Al Brisco's composition Ralph's Reel.

"Wishful Thinking" by Wynn Stewart is one of my favorite Ralph Mooney tracks as well as one of my favorite shuffles (beware of the sharp notes from the background singer in the third chorus):

My favorite Waylon Jennings record is Dreaming My Dreams, and I also like Are You Ready For The Country, and all the stuff mentioned on this thread.

Wynn Stewart's stuff is so great I guess Wynn got him going in a direction when he asked Mooney to play some "Cajun-sounding" stuff for a record, and you get that sound like we here on Rainy Day Woman. That whole Ramblin Man CD is excellent.
I have to say , this recording floors me....
