JERRY BYRD site has new tunes posted

"Memories of Maria", a tune recorded by JERRY BYRD with a large string orchestra in Mexico....can now be heard on the Jerry Byrd-Fan Club.com home page.

Jerry did this, as best I can recall in the mid-1960's and a fine job it is indeed.

I flew the wife and I down to Nashville in our Cessna-180 and visited Jerry in his Nashville home. When I requested Jerry to play a single tune for me, he simply turned abruptly and thrust his new Jerry Byrd model Rickenbacher into my hands and said: "Here, YOU play something". Ultimately, as I sat down and proceeded to think of something to pick, he immediately pointed out "You're holding the bar wrong!" After that, I couldn't recall a single question that I had tho't of during my 15 hour flight into Berry Field. Oh well......
