I'm replacing some rod spacers on my p/p Emmons. They're 1/4" (.250) OD. The rods are 1/8" in diameter, or .125.
Went to the hardware store and picked up a couple, for #6 screws. When I got them home I found that the ID on the originals I have is slightly smaller than the ID of the ones I bought. The originals have a tighter tolerance.
I checked online and found spacers for #4 screws or #6 screws, .115 and .141 respectively. The ones I got at the store are for the #6 screws, so they must be .141. They work, but they rattle a bit. .115 (#4 screw) would be too small for the .125 rod.
My question is, can I use the .141 ID spacers, or is there a place that sells the ones with a tighter tolerance?
Thanks for your help. _________________ Bruce Wandmayer
