Is Peter Cooper touring with a steel player?

Post by Randy Brown »

Peter Cooper and Eric Brace are playing here in town next week. Lloyd Green is all over their album, and I'm just wondering if they use a steeler on the road. It's hard for me to make it to these weekday shows, but if there is a steel player involved I definitely want to be there. Anybody know? Thanks

They were here in California a few months ago. Karen Tobin and I opened for them on one of the nights, and I got to sit in with them on one of their set on a different night. Those two guys are super smart, talented and friendly. They did not bring a steel player to CA, but you're in Tennessee, so it might be different.

But with or without steel, it's a really great show, and great guys to get to know.

Just saw this post..had to comment! For anyone that has had the sheer pleasure of hearing the "Master Sessions" CD you know that this is one of the incredibly best projects to happen in a long while. Simple, straightforward music, exceptional musicianship, tasty, and great quality production/recording. To see and hear everyone involved in this project live and on tour would be an astounding musical experience. To answer the question "touring with a steel player"(and don't forget, a dobro player !)...by all means(they should)..and they would need to be first-string! I love the CD, and am fortunate enough to live in Nashville where I will be able to catch them live sometime. PF and the "Jumpers" rule, no doubt about it, but Peter and Eric and the boys take no "backseat" to anyone. Respectfully submitted, RK
