Right Knee Lever Adjustments

Post by Tony Orth »

Either my right knee is swelling, or my right side knee levers have "settled in" to the point where they are 5.5 inches apart.
This is causing some problems with accidental string raising/lowering, and even getting my knee in there to begin with.
This is an Emmons LeGrande II.

I would like to adjust them to 6 inches apart. This guitar is relatively new (June 02) Any instructions on how to do so?

Tony:

You didn't state the make or model of your steel, but if it's an all pull system you might look for an allen screw adjustment on the lever. Usually you have to fold the knee lever up to see the adjusting screw.

There is a small allen screw in the bottom of the bracket that holds the lever on. adjust this screw in to get a wider gap. They are on all levers except the verticle.Hope this helps. Martin.

John and Martin,

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a closer look at it tonight when I get home from work.
I must have overlooked those screws when I was under there having a look.

I appreciate your help.
