I have just purchased a Nashville 112 about a month ago to replace my ageing Session 500. (My back thanks me!)
I could not get any signal from the 3 pin balanced output on the NV 112 the way I used to get from my Session, to connect to the sound system.
Does the 112 have a balanced audio transformer on the output (pins 2 and 3) the same as the Session?

Many thanks,
Murray.

According to the Peavey manual it is a standard low impedance balanced output (the same as a Session 500).

Did you use a known good mic cord to connect to the board?

No, it does not have an audio transformer. The XLR output is driven by a 4560 opamp.

Thanks Jack and Ken,
Yes I used a reputable mic cable to connect to the board.
I have a circuit schematic for the Session and it shows an opamp 4558 driving a transformer to pins 2 and 3 of an XLR socket with pin 1 grounded.

Ken, if there is no balance trans, which pin is "hot" and which pins are grounded on the 112?

Many thanks for your time.
Regards,
Murray.

Pin 2 and 3 carry the opamp balanced signal and pin 1 is chassis ground.

Many thanks Ken,
I'll see what I can figure out!

Would you have a component schematic of the 112 that you could email me?

Regards,
Murray.

What exact problem are you having? I've used the XLR out on my NV112 many times and never had a problem (I used the XLR out on the Session 500 I had and never had a problem with it either).

Many thanks Ken and Jack.
On further investigation, it turns out that the "sound man" did not know his stuff!
He did not have the cable connected at the mixing desk!

Thanks Guys.
Murray.
